Six people, not sixteen
A group of six is the largest number one coach can actually watch in moving water. Most schools run twelve because the maths is better. Ours is worse and the lessons are not.
If the sea is wrong we will say so and move you, rather than put you in it because you have driven two hours.
What you can book
Four things. Prices include the board, the suit and the boots.
Beginner group
01 May 2026Two hours, six people, one coach. £45 including all the kit.
Improvers
02 May 2026For people who can stand up and want to turn. Two hours, £55.
One to one
03 May 2026Ninety minutes, just you and a coach. £85, and worth it if something is stuck.
Junior club
04 May 2026Saturdays in term time for eight to sixteens. £15 a session.
I had written surfing off at forty-two. Two hours later I stood up, and the coach was more pleased about it than I was.

The board only works at certain states of tide, and so does the beach. Have a look before you set off.
