We have been on Cromwell Street since 1978 selling other people's kit, and we only stock things we have used. If it is in here, somebody who works here has been wet in it.
We also mend things. Bring a jacket in and we will patch it rather than sell you another one.

The Machair jumper
01 Aug 2026Undyed Hebridean wool, knitted in Shawbost. Heavy, scratchy, warm when wet.
Waxed cotton jacket
04 Jul 2026Eight ounce waxed cotton, four pockets, re-waxable forever.
Resoleable walking boots
19 May 2026Leather, stitched not glued, so they can be resoled three or four times.
The 30 litre pack
11 Mar 2026One compartment, one lid, no zips. The zip is what fails.
They sold me a smaller jacket than I asked for and were right. Eleven years on I have had it re-waxed twice by the same people.
Bring it in, we will mend it
Re-waxing, zips, patches and re-soling, on anything, whether you bought it here or not. Two weeks in winter, four in summer.
