The Machair jumper
Undyed Hebridean wool, knitted in Shawbost. Heavy, scratchy, warm when wet.
Undyed wool from Hebridean sheep, spun in Yorkshire because nobody spins it here any more, and knitted eleven miles away in Shawbost.
It is heavier than you expect and scratchier than you want for the first week. After that it is the only thing you will wear from October, and it is still warm when it is soaking, which nothing synthetic manages.
