Who we are

Experience the art of interior design

We specialise in turning a vision into something that can actually be built. Eighteen people, one room, and every drawing done here.

Architectural design

New build, extension and conversion, from the first sketch through planning to the drawings a contractor can price.

Interior design

Layout, light, materials and the joinery that makes a plan work once people are actually living in it.

Workplace

Offices, studios and showrooms. Space planning, acoustics and a fit-out package that survives contact with a building manager.

Retrofit

Fabric-first upgrades to existing buildings: insulation, glazing, airtightness and the heating that then actually suits the house.

Antra is eighteen people in one room in London. We draw everything ourselves, we visit every site, and the person you meet first stays on the job to the end.

How we work

Architecture process for exceptional results

Our process adapts to the building and to you. What does not change is who does the work.

  1. Initial consultation
    01

    Initial consultation

A conversation and a site visit. We tell you what is possible and what it costs before you commit to anything.

  2. Design and planning
    02

    Design and planning

Sketches, options and a layout to react to. This is the stage where changes are cheap, so we spend time here.

  3. Technical design
    03

    Technical design

Drawings, specification and consultants coordinated, to the point a builder can price it without guessing.

  4. Project handover
    04

    Project handover

We stay involved through the build, answer the contractor's questions and check what is made against what was drawn.

% who would use us again

They spent the first month asking questions instead of drawing. By the time anything was on paper it was already right.

Elena Marsh , Wharf Road Apartment

The drawings were good enough that our builder priced it without a single query. After the last project, that alone was worth the fee.

Questions

Before you get in touch

Do you take on small projects?

Yes. A single room done properly is a good project. What we will not do is take a job on and then hand it to someone junior because it is small.

Do we need planning permission?

Often not. Permitted development covers more than people expect. We tell you at the first visit, and if an application is needed we handle it.

How are you paid?

Fixed fee per stage, agreed before the stage starts. No percentage of construction cost, because that rewards us for making your building more expensive.

Can you work with our builder?

Yes, and we would rather you had one you trust. If you do not, we can tender the job to three and help you read the returns.
